HISTORY
In 1993, at the age of 22, Adam Helm earned his Culinary Arts degree from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. Trained in classical French cuisine, Adam has also acquired considerable knowledge while working for restaurants and catering companies in San Francisco, Seattle and Northern New Jersey. As Executive Chef of Ome Caterers he successfully managed daily corporate events and formal galas like the ‘04 Susan G. Komen Pink Tie Gala for 1500 guests. For the Short Hills Hilton, he created hors d’oeuvre, buffet and plated menus as Chef Garde Manger.
In 2008, Adam relocated to Los Angeles where he now sits at the helm of his own personal chef business that aims to recreate the home-dining experience he valued while growing up. Adam Helm’s FOOD provides personal chef service and catering.
There is no limit to what Adam can cook. He has a great deal of experience with California Cuisine, Northwest Seafood, Cajun Creole, Italian, and Comfort Food and his growing love for Japanese, Indian and Vegetarian dishes are producing delicious results. His eclectic menu designs are a dedication to the many international cuisines he has enjoyed while living and working in culturally diverse neighborhoods over the past 20 years.
In his spare time, Adam cooks lunch for his Buddhist community, skates with his buddies and hosts dinner parties with his partner Elaine. He looks forward to organizing a non-profit project wherein he can share his knowledge with and provide opportunities for at-risk youth.
