“Every year students from our meditation centers in Santa Monica and Santa Barbara gather for a 4-day silent retreat at a remote Buddhist temple in the Los Padres National Forest. This year Chef Adam Helm donated his time: for the preparation of the menu for the retreat, for all the shopping, and all the cooking. Everyone tasted the love in his food. The event organizers were also well pleased that the food was on time and under budget. There was only one problem. We were in silence, so we couldn’t talk about how delicious every single meal was! Chef Adam is very special, and brings great passion and love to his art. We are deeply grateful for his generosity, and make special wishes that everyone in Southern California has the good fortune to make his food’s acquaintance.”
